WordPress Providence Summer Picnic – August 17, 6pm in Warwick
So we’ve been on a bit of a hiatus for a couple of months. Between WordCamp Boston and our organizers busy schedules – my own included – it’s been hard to get organized. On top of it, I’ve personally been spending a lot of time traveling, which makes picking a date and organizing an event even trickier. So there’s good news on two fronts! First, we’re going to be having a nice WordPress summer picnic on Wednesday, August 17th at 6 pm. Second, we’re welcoming a new batch of organizers – some fresh blood – to kick things into gear.
Event Details: Summer Picnic Meetup
Where: It will be hosted in the backyard of one of our new organizers, Jesse Friedman: 31 Howard Ave, Warwick RI 02889.
When: Wednesday, August 17th, 6 pm until we’re done!
What: Networking, an introduction to our new organizers, and classic picnic / BBQ food. No formal talks for our picnic!
The New Organizers
Taking the organizing seat will be Providence’s resident Automattician, John James Jacoby, along with past regulars Luke Gedeon (who’s joining my own company, 10up) and Jesse Friedman (of Neal Advertising). Luke is generously providing food, but can’t make the meetup. Jesse and John will be there in style!

I can’t make it but wanted to welcome the new organizers. Some really great people have stepped up to take the reigns.
I can’t make the picnic, but would like to join the meetup to find about about future events. Sorry if I’m being oblivious, but I don’t see where to sign up here. –and when I search Providence and WordPress on the Meetup page, I get only Boston. What am I missing?
