Lightning Talks! Tuesday, July 27, 6pm @ McFadden’s

The forth WordPress Providence Meetup will be on July 27th, 2010, at 6 pm, at McFadden’s Restaurant & Saloon. We’ll be in their private room; food and drinks will be served. Parking is free on and off street (starts at 5:30 pm). There will be free drinks for the first 10 attendees as well as free finger foods for all courtesy of our sponsor.

We’ve had 3 great speakers for the first 3 meet ups – and now we’re striving for 5 or so speakers for 5-minutes a piece all during 1 meet up. That’s right, it’s our first lightning talks meet up. Unlike Providence’s Pecha-Kucha, there are no rules for your 5 minute talk. Well, except one: it has to be related to WordPress in some way. You have the floor, a projector, a laptop hook up, and 5 minutes of the group’s time.

We already have 5 tentative commitments lined up, but if you’re interested, let us know. We’ll probably squeeze you in this time, and if we run out of room, we’ll make sure you’re at the top of the  list for our next round of lightning talks.

Our lightning-talkers are still finalizing their ideas, so we don’t want to say too much yet (as of this post date). Our speakers will be posting short synopses of their talks on this blog, so come back soon or keep an eye on our Twitter feed.
